String Theory: Find Me Here (2025)
This collection tells a story of cultural continuity through the strings that ties us together. The garments explore how tradition and imagination is inextricably bound; transforming the associations fiber arts hold in our consciousness. The white dress was crocheted and knitted in separate panels and hand-sewn together to reveal an intricate mosaic, binding tradition and memory. The front and back of the dress features a crocheted spine made from rope and a core made from cord, representing the foundational backbone of the intricate craft within history. The red dress was crocheted and knitted with yarn in an unconventional way; stretching strings and tying knots to resemble a connective web of muscle fibers. The net structure is stitched together with lace trim, an expression of sexuality and allure. The exchange between preserving traditional methods of textiles and challenging conventional notions of craft, redefining the possibilities of the medium.
